About Massage:

Massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen. A professional massage can do wonders for your well-being, both physically and mentally.

Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress.

Massage and bodywork can also help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

Furthermore, clients often report a sense of perspective and clarity after receiving a massage. The emotional balance bodywork provides can often be just as vital and valuable as the more tangible physical benefits.

During a Massage Session the client and the practitioner will discuss the desired outcome of the session. This will determine which parts of the body require massage. A typical full-body session will be customized to your needs. Massage modalities used may include acupressure, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, swedish, myofacial, reflexology and hot stone. Massage techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to client what they want to wear. They should undress to their level of comfort. They will be properly draped (covered with a sheet) for warmth, comfort and privacy during the entire session. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. Pregnant women should consult their doctor before massage treatments.Massages are not recommended in the first trimester and the last two weeks of pregnancy. The average full-body massage or bodywork session lasts approximately 60 to 90-minutes long for optimal relaxation.

Thai Massage is a dynamic and energizing form of bodywork. Also called "Lazy Man's Yoga". A Thai session takes place on a large padded mat on the floor. The practitioner uses a mix of massage, yoga, acupressure and stretching to open the body physically and energetically. No oils are used so you are fully dressed (as if you are going to yoga). You are actively involved during a treatment, breathing and communicating with the practitioner as they gently contort and knead your body. Many people say Thai Massage is like doing yoga without any work.

Massage has survived and continues to evolve because it is the most fundamental means of giving care, affection and aid between human beings. Its healing qualities differ from those of other modalities because massage confers its benefits through the character and healing intention of those who give and receive it. Getting a massage can do you a world of good. And getting massage frequently can do even more. This is the beauty of bodywork. Taking part in this form of regularly scheduled self-care can play a huge part in how healthy you'll be and how youthful you'll remain with each passing year. Budgeting time and money for bodywork at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health. Consider massage appointments a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan, and work with your practitioner to establish a treatment schedule that best meets your needs.
