Health Goals for 2021 | Episode 31

by | Oct 30, 2020 | The Health Made Simple Show

Welcome to another episode of the Health Made Simple show. This is going to be the last episode of 2020. Tonight, we are going to talk about leveling up our health and health goals we can set for 2021.

First, I have a couple of announcements! There is a cleanse coming up on January 4. We will extend the early bird special, so if you have not committed, this is the time to join us. Buckle your seatbelts because it is going to be very cool. The other announcement is that we are having Dr. Dave Hogsed come to the Balance Health Studio in Seagrove. There is no charge, but we have limited seats. This will be a four-hour seminar that will be live and interactive, and will be on February 6. We have not chosen the topic yet, but it is going to be awesome.

What is practicing healthcare?

When we look back over the past year, we realize that health is the number one commodity in the world. There is nothing that could have had that kind of impact on the world other than a global health scare. There is a reason we have to practice health. In the past year, I have helped over 200 people through covid. Fortunately, none of those people passed away, though we had two, maybe three hospitalizations. I can happily say that they are all back to their normal lives. The reason I am saying this is because they are all practicing health care, and they are practicing being healthy.

The takeaway tonight is to show people that they can level up and continue to improve their health as long as they have a strategy.

My wife and I both tested positive for Covid. The reason that it was not a big deal for us was that we practice health regularly. Did it suck for me? It sure did! I lost my taste and smell, I was super tired, and for several days, I had no energy. But ten days later, I was back in my groove. While we had Covid, I constantly talked to myself reminding myself that we have got this and we will be just fine. That conversation only happens because we have been practicing health for decades and keep leveling up. Practicing health gives us emotional strength.

Let this be the year of getting clean.

Strive to only put organic foods in your body this year. Why? It is important to clean the cells. Every time you eat something that is not organic, you put chemicals in your body. Focus on getting clean because this is a decision that every single one of us can make each day. Go organic not because of a trend, but because you know you shouldn’t put chemicals in your body.

This is the year of the liver.

Random diet modifications are due to overloading the body with toxins that the liver can’t handle. If you have a random food allergy, that’s a liver issue. If you suddenly have a skin condition and you get rash, psoriasis, or eczema, that is a liver issue. If you can’t handle your alcohol, it is a liver issue. There are so many things that boil back down to the liver. The number one goal is to get clean. I recommend drinking fresh-pressed organic celery juice first thing in the morning. It works like an electrolyte drink, and in a week’s time, you will start noticing a change in the bowels. Milk Thistle is one of my favorites when it comes to the liver since it helps repair and detoxifies.

Win the morning

When I say win the morning, I mean three things. The first is a three minute morning meditation followed by three minutes of pure gratitude. The second is to get your body to match your mind and get your body moving. The third is the power statement, which is the conversation with ourselves. Finding a morning ritual will change your life.

Increase your Flexibility.

Increase your flexibility in your emotional and mental space. A rigid mind produces a rigid body as we age. It is also important to be flexible with your eating patterns and your eating habits. Increase your range of motion! No one was born rigid, and if we stretch the body, it helps the mind. If we stretch the mind, it helps the body. I encourage you to get involved with yoga. As yoga improves your physical body, it will open your mind as well.

Get Stronger

Become a badass! We want to increase our emotional fitness. Getting better at adapting, adjusting, and executing is crucial. Emotional fitness starts with having a clear understanding that you want to be happier, stronger, more confident, and more powerful. Some studies affirm that we are becoming weaker as a human race. One of my favorite ways to get stronger is to do push-ups every single day.
