LIVE Q&A: Your Health Questions Answered | Episode 62

by | Jul 30, 2021 | The Health Made Simple Show

This week on the Health Made Simple Show, I’m answering questions directly from you in the chat! Here’s a recap of the wide variety of topics we covered.

1.Why do my finger joints swell during the summer?

If your diet is not the cause, joint swelling is usually caused by the pH levels in the joint being off which causes the electrolyte balance to be off as well. I would recommend Cal Ammo, which will help keep the proper pH balance and should give quick results. If you aren’t regulating your diet, joint swelling is often caused by insulin resistance and your body’s inability to process those things because of dietary issues.

2. My sister has had covid for over a week now and she’s suffering from a bad rash, itching and swollen hands. What can I do to help her?

If she’s had covid that long, she’s likely weathered the storm, now she has to deal with the aftermath. Whenever I hear itchy skin, I think of a liver issue. For that reason, I recommend Antronex, which will help support your liver in its natural detoxification work. There will be lots of health “debris” after fighting covid, so if she’s strong enough, I would recommend intermittent fasting and going carb and sugar free to help reboot the system. She’ll need to be replacing all of the Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Zinc she lost successfully fighting off covid.

If there’s ONE THING everyone, vaccinated or unvaccinated, can do to fight covid, it’s to load up on Vitamin D. A virus cannot hurt you unless it gets inside of your cells and Vitamin D is the key to strengthening your cell walls and making them more resistant to viruses. 9/10 covid deaths were in patients with low Vitamin D, you can significantly improve your chances of resisting and fighting covid by improving your Vitamin D levels.

3. My child has had a mask on for a year, what should I do for their immune system?

Under 16 years old is one of the most critical times for developing a person’s immune system. My first recommendation is, once they’re out of school or a space where a mask is required, get that mask off their face! After that, make sure they’re still getting healthy, safe interactions with other children, so they can still develop the immune health they’ll need later in life. In addition, make sure they’re getting those essentials, Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Zinc. Finally, if your school or school district is insistent on masking, make sure they’re teaching your children the full picture of health, especially immune health. Children are never too young to start learning how to live superhuman!

4. If someone is vaccinated, what can they take to help their system?

This one all comes down to the liver. If the liver is clean, you can process anything that comes into the body much better. Specifically, I recommend Cod Liver Oil, Milk Thistle, and Turmeric Forte.

5. My sister has to wear a mask at work and has developed a polyp in her nose. How can I help?

One of the most important things we can do is mask hygiene. You should be replacing your mask every day, if not every hour! The bacteria that can build up in there simply cannot be rooted out if you’re wearing the same dirt mask day in and day out. Furthermore, I always recommend intermittent fasting and getting your carbs and sugars down to give the body a reset. Specifically with polyps, you can acidify the body with apple cider vinegar and peppermint essential oil.

6. How can I lower my lipoprotein A?

Lipoprotein A is specifically more genetic based, but what we can do is look at the rest of your cholesterol panel. Intermittent fasting will lower your overall cholesterol, as will antioxidants like Coq10. If you want a more specific plan for your individual cholesterol panel, you can get a lab kit and schedule a consult with me where I can walk you through your individual profile and we can develop a health plan together. 7. Is there anything I can do for stomach pain relieved by eating?

Stomach pain relieved by eating is usually a sign of an ulcer. Anything gut health related like that will always make me recommend intermittent fasting. Specifically for that issue, Chlorophyll Complex will help regulate your internal health.

8. My dog has separation anxiety, is there anything I can do for him?

There’s a two pronged approach to helping anxious dogs. First, is behavior training. Repeat leaving the house frequently for short durations (even just 15 seconds) and come in and out with no touching, no talking and no eye contact with the dog. It will reduce the emotion of the tearful goodbyes and exciting hellos and hopefully make leaving and returning so mundane the dog will get bored. Physiologically, Ashwagandha and Canine Hemp Complex will both help the dog stay calmer.

9. I have heartburn issues, what can I do?

Despite what you may have heard, heartburn is actually caused by a lack of acid in the stomach. Apple cider vinegar will help restore the pH balance in your stomach and a Zypan supplement will help support your gastric pH.

10. I’m a vegetarian, how can I increase my ferritin level?

As a vegetarian, you’re probably already having a difficult time absorbing iron. Additionally, you have to be very careful adding a trace mineral into your body.  Ferrofood is a 100% plant based supplement that will support your body’s need for iron.

11. I’m having a problem with rupturing ovarian cysts, what can I do?

Ovarian cysts pop on their own as a normal part of a cycle. Sometimes, if the pain is serious and lasting, you may have a cyst near a joint or nerves and bringing it up with your chiropractor will be able to help you further figure out what’s going on. I always recommend iodine supplements for anyone who may be having issues with estrogen dominance.

12. I’m traveling soon, what precautions should I take?

First of all, go rested! It’ll help your body stay regulated and keep your circadian rhythms in place. As far as supplements, Congaplex, the herb andrographis, and Zypan will all help keep your immune system strong while traveling.

Lastly, as always, I want to leave you with one action you can take to become more superhuman. This week, it’s simply…

Have More Grace.

Our world is filled with so much division, most of it coming from the top down. People are choosing to be vaccinated or not and then using fear tactics to shout down anyone who’s made a different decision. We all make health decisions for a variety of reasons, with a variety of factors, but most people are all doing their best to live well. Our world would function a lot better if we offered people a lot more grace on the decisions they’ve made, even if we’re not receiving it for ours.
