The Secret to Gut Health
Across the board, there is no hard line for diet. Everyone is different, so it can be impossible to guess what could be irritating your gut or not.
When starting your gut health journey, start with a hard elimination. Remove known allergens and irritants from your diet (i.e anything not included in the God’s Garden diet, slowly reintroduce them after a few weeks, and monitor how you feel. Follow the 80/20 rule when thinking about what you’re eating.
Parasites
It’s as creepy as it sounds. The bad news? Everyone is exposed to them. But the good news is – there is a way to safely evict them. It’s important to address parasites quickly, as letting them grow can lead to serious long-term effects.
If you are struggling with parasites, first you need to remove and cleanse your gut from all parasites, but then undo the damage they caused living off of your digestive tract (and even your liver!).
Meat and fish specifically are the highest-risk food for carrying parasites (that can even be grill-resistant)
Treatment
There are various stool tests available to help you identify the presence of parasites in your gut. But be warned – parasites are nocturnal, so to ensure an accurate test, it should be during the night.
Skin and/ or backside itchiness, constipation, bloating, diarrhea, and rashes are all signs you may be struggling with parasites. Once they are present, simply cutting off the source will not be enough to get rid of them. To do that, you must first ensure you are producing enough stomach acid. This ensures parasites are not getting past the stomach. Regular consumption of apple cider vinegar is a great way to improve stomach acid levels.
Garlic, coconut oil, pumpkin seeds, and goldenseal herbs are great parasite killers to incorporate into your regular diet.
Don’t wait until poor gut health develops into something more sinister. Partner with a functional medicine practitioner to help guide you in turning around your gut health for good.
