Energy & Fatigue | Episode 23

by | Oct 23, 2020 | The Health Made Simple Show

In tonight’s episode of the Health Made Simple show, we are going to talk about energy and fatigue. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of listening to our bodies. As human beings, we stop listening to the clues our body gives us. I will discuss some old methods that clinicians have used for years and how crucial it is to observe the patient. Observation can tell us a lot about the human body. The more we know, the more we can help. It is key to put the paperwork down and observe the patient.

Let’s talk about nails.

We can tell a lot about someone’s health by looking at their nails. If the nails have ridges, it probably means a B12 deficiency and a thyroid condition going along with it. If a couple of ridges are white, it means an iron deficiency. Also, a great indicator is to look at our lunula (the white moon shape) at the base of your nails. You should be able to see the lunula in at least 8 out of 10 of your nails. When this is not the case, it could mean a weak immune system related to your digestive system. In addition, white spots equal zinc deficiency which could be stress that impacts your adrenal system. If you are under stress, it is hard for your body to process zinc. The nail itself is a protein, so we have to have a good digestive system to get all the essential nutrients for the nail to grow healthy. The average time for a nail to grow is six months. What you see in your nails is a great indicator of your health for the past six months.

Weight gain

Belly weight usually relates to adrenal stress. When we have stress, we produce a hormone called cortisol that will signal the liver to release sugar. Even if you have not eaten anything, if you are under stress, your body will produce sugar, which means that you will have insulin. When insulin is released, you store it. That stress weight goes all around the waist. So if you are eating well but still gaining weight, it is probably the result of stress. Eating more vegetables will cleanse your body from the extra hormones. I recommend getting your adrenals tested. If your adrenals are exhausted or overactive, this will prevent you from losing weight. A protruding belly means that something is wrong with the liver and it is time to cleanse the liver. Eating cruciferous vegetables is excellent for you.

If you are gaining weight in general, this typically means that your thyroid is involved. This could mean only your thyroid is involved, the thyroid and adrenals, or the thyroid and gut. If you want to get to the root of the problem, a simple test is not enough. For example, let’s say you have hypothyroidism and you are low on T3, but it is a liver issue. If you don’t treat the liver problem, the markers are not going to come back normal. If you are a female with hypothyroidism, you must check your antibodies to determine whether or not you have Hashimoto’s. Over 50% of women with hypothyroidism have Hashimoto’s.

If the extra weight is in the low abdomen, thighs, and butt, this typically indicates a hormone imbalance in the ovaries. Especially an estrogen imbalance. Cleaning the liver and the gallbladder to get rid of excess hormones is my recommendation.

Baggy Eyes and Dark Circles

If you get baggy eyes, think water retention, caused by lack of sleep, caused by adrenals getting overworked. If you get the dark circles consistently, the kidneys might be struggling, and you might have some level of parasites. To treat water retention, I use a product called A-C Carbamide, and you see results in a couple of days. Just by looking at the symptoms, you can get a clear idea of what to do.

What happens if I am losing weight?

Usually, something shocked your body. Our bodies must be absorbing and building protein. I recommend going to your doctor to find the cause. If you changed your diet and have been eating organic for the first time in your life and you are strong, healthy, and full of vitality, losing excess weight is a positive thing.

In the 1950-1960s, a lot of babies were radiated for enlarged thymus glands. What lingering effects would this procedure have on adults?

The thymus gland is where you make the majority of your white blood cells. I recommend getting your white blood cells checked and to always do something for immune support. Also, eating a clean diet with cruciferous vegetables and fruits that will help keep your liver cleansed is my recommendation.

Flu vaccine

The flu vaccine does not protect you 100% from the flu and there is a 50% chance that you will still get the flu. What is true is that you are putting something foreign in your body. Make a conscious decision based out of leveling up your health versus out of fear. I would not recommend putting something in your body that you are already concerned about.
